"He looks like a greyhound, but he runs like a bus."

Awards
1991 Hall of Fame Results
By Patrick Mondout
Rod
Carew,
Gaylord
Perry and Fergie
Jenkins were voted into National
Baseball Hall of Fame by the writers for 1991. In his first,
and sadly last, year of eligibility Al
Oliver received only 19 votes. When he retired, all 33 of the guys
with more hits than him were either in the Hall or soon to be with the
exception of Vada
Pinson, who at least stayed on the ballot for the full 15 years.
Note: Those with less than 5% of
the vote were ineligible for future elections by the BBWAA and could only
be elected by the Veteran's Committee. Source: National Baseball Hall of Fame. Special thanks to Keith
Hemmelman for compiling the data.
Our sites have always been by you and about you. If
you check
our TV Forums or our Technology & Science forums, you'll find literally thousands of messages from fans
of 1970s TV shows, survivors of hurricanes or aircraft accidents, etc. from all over the world sharing their memories, asking
questions, making comments. Our baseball section is new, but don't let
that stop you from sharing
your memories of the first game you went to, your favorite player, a
now-forgotten stadium, etc. Of course you can also ask questions, post
trivia, tell the world what you think of Barry Bonds, or just read what
others are saying.
