Herb Carneal is a Major League Baseball announcer. Since
1962 he has been the lead play-by-play voice of Minnesota
Twins radio broadcasts. His monotone voice and laid-back demeanor have become
well-loved by Twins fans. His enduring nickname is "The Voice of the
Twins."
Since 2002, Carneal has scaled back his work commitment to providing
play-by-play for one-half of Twins home games only. As of 2004 Carneal
worked in partnership with fellow radio commentators John Gordon, Dan
Gladden, and Jack Morris.
Carneal received the Ford
C. Frick Award from the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996, and was
inducted into the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting's Hall of Fame in 2004.
Our sites have always been by you and about you. If
you check
our TV Forums or our Technology & Science forums, you'll find literally thousands of messages from fans
of 1970s TV shows, survivors of hurricanes or aircraft accidents, etc. from all over the world sharing their memories, asking
questions, making comments. Our baseball section is new, but don't let
that stop you from sharing
your memories of the first game you went to, your favorite player, a
now-forgotten stadium, etc. Of course you can also ask questions, post
trivia, tell the world what you think of Barry Bonds, or just read what
others are saying.
