"He looks like a greyhound, but he runs like a bus."

2006 Baseball Broadcasters & Networks
This is a team-by-team listing of the networks and announcers who
broadcast games during the 2006
season. We also have the major local and national media websites for these
teams. You can view announcers for any season using the Broadcasters by
Year tool on the right. (We have also found
a source for thousands of vintage games on audio cassette.)
Much of the information above was originally compiled by Robert
Smathers.
Note: References to ESPN have been
removed as a freelancer who shall remain nameless, a "Page 2"
contributor for their website, cited me personally but refused to
acknowledge Super70s.com as the source for pictures and a pair of
anecdotes he used in a column he wrote citing ESPN's policy (one that is
frequently broken, as a quick check of their increasingly sparse
"free" content reveals), something that is really bad form in
the online world where we learn about other great sites by reading about
them on ones we frequent. I have allowed publications as diverse as
Scholastic Paperbacks, the Tribune-Review in Pittsburgh, Sea & Go
Boating Magazines, and Cambridge University Press to use pictures or other
content only asking that then credit Super70s.com. They were happy to do
so but apparently ESPN believes that it is beneath them to properly credit
contributions. I will not make the mistake of helping unappreciative ESPN
freelancers in the future. It is now our policy to acknowledge ESPN.com
authors, but not the site itself, as a source when applicable. For the
record, we have never used ESPN or any of their authors as a source on our
sites as of July 7, 2006.
Our sites have always been by you and about you. If
you check
our TV Forums or our Technology & Science forums, you'll find literally thousands of messages from fans
of 1970s TV shows, survivors of hurricanes or aircraft accidents, etc. from all over the world sharing their memories, asking
questions, making comments. Our baseball section is new, but don't let
that stop you from sharing
your memories of the first game you went to, your favorite player, a
now-forgotten stadium, etc. Of course you can also ask questions, post
trivia, tell the world what you think of Barry Bonds, or just read what
others are saying.
