The 1980 Kansas City Royals went 97-65 and finished 1st in the American League West. The Royals drew 2,288,714 to Royals Stadium. George Brett, Larry Gura and Darrell Porter made the All-Star team. George Brett won the American League Most Valuable Player award. Gold Glove winners for 1980 included Frank White and Willie Wilson.
