The 1970 Minnesota Twins went 98-64 and finished 1st in the American League West. The Twins drew 1,261,887 to Metropolitan Stadium. Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, Tony Oliva and Jim Perry made the All-Star team. Jim Perry was honored with the Cy Young award. Gold Glove winners for 1970 included Jim Kaat.
