To Rome With LoveBy Patrick Mondout
We've not had time to write about this TV show yet. If you were a fan, we'd love to have you help us out by writing a synopsis or review! The
story centers around newly widowed "bachelor father" Michael
Endicott (John Forsythe) and his three young daughters, who leave Iowa for
Rome, where the father takes up a teaching position with the American
Overseas School.
The "situation" for this comedy is the adjustments all four
have to make to living in Italy. Aunt Harriet (Kay Medford), who came over
with the foursome for the first season but eventually flew back, spends
most of the series trying to get the family to move back to Iowa. In her
place, the father of the unseen mother (she dies before the pilot - this
is a sitcom after all), comes for a visit during season two and, despite
his comments about Italy and his desire to be back on his farm in Iowa,
never leaves.
