Rafferty
Rafferty was a medical drama starring Patrick "The
Prisoner" McGoohan as Dr. Sid Rafferty. It also starred Millie
Slavin as Nurse Vera Wales, John Getz as Dr. Daniel Gentry, and Joan
Pringle as Nurse Keynes.
Rafferty was in his first year of private practice, when the series
begins, having left the U.S. Army after 23 years as a doctor. His
short-tempered nature was in stark contrast to those around him, though
the much younger Nurse Wales was in love with him.
The series was terminally ill from the beginning and was laid to rest
by CBS on November 28, 1977, less than three months after it debuted.
