California Fever

Wow, California! Sun, sand, girls, cars. It had it all, unfortunately CBS didn't agree and this show didn't make it. The show centered around a group of teenagers that somehow got themselves into an adventure on a weekly basis, Tuesday nights if my information is correct.

Jimmy McNichol (Kristy's brother) played Vince, and was the ring leader and star of the show. He drove a colorful Chevy Camaro with a 454ci engine that hauled, and often did. Another of the other characters had a 4x4 truck/buggy that they often rode around in as well.

Most episodes involved the group getting in and out of trouble, helping someone else out of trouble or the like and they almost invariably finishing up with a song from Vince's band. Cars are what originally drew me to the show, but the characters kept me there, if only for a short lived TV life. I miss the wholesome shows of yesteryear, where friends were friends and good always prevailed. I realize it's idealistic, but everyone needs to feel warm and fuzzy sometimes.

Yes I do remember California Fever, as being a brilliant show when I was about 12. I can't believe it only aired for 3 months! I remember writing new scripts for the show and sending them off to the American TV station. I could have been rich by now. --Elca
